Photo Day Info
We recognize the busy schedule parents keep today and time is not a luxury to be wasted. We appreciate your passing on some tips to help us both keep everyone smiling!
Instructors and Staff
Please advise your dancers to be dressed and make-up completed 15 minutes prior to your scheduled photo time. Starting on-time is the single most important factor to staying on-time. The majority of Photo Days we run ahead of schedule and can begin taking individual photos before your scheduled time even begins. We take your group pictures last so we don’t need everyone present to begin. Inform parents that all ordering is done online and no forms or payments are required on Photo Day.
Parents
Make every effort to arrive early enough to be ready 15 minutes prior to picture time. Be prepared, do not wait until Photo Day to make those minor alterations, bedazzle, sew any items, etc. Make sure your dancer has everything they will need; all outfits and shoes, correct color tights, hair done, all makeup items and accessories, etc. It’s never too early to begin getting ready. We ask that only dancers and staff enter the photography area. It is a challenging task to photograph groups of young people in a limited amount of time. Many younger children can be shy or anxious in a group photo setting and other kids become rowdy and wild. Adding a group of parents in the vicinity and other cameras begging for heads to turn undermine the job we are trying to do. Let us take the pictures on Photo Day. If this is the first time your child has been in front of The Big Lights, they will be OK and you will too.
Things to bring just in case….
Scissors…Zip ties for hair pieces…Needle/thread…Hair bands & bobby pins (that match hair)…Hairspray/gel/wax…Safety pins…Warm up suit…Snacks that will NOT get onto costumes…Water (no pop or colored beverages).
Makeup and Misc. Stuff…
Eyeliner…Eye shadow/brow pencil…Eye glitter…Blush…Lipstick… Mascara…Clear lip gloss…Foundation/powder…Eyelashes/glue…Earrings if needed…Body/hair glitter spray.
